The right question: does the file leave my device

With contracts, bank statements and identity documents, that question comes before any question about quality or price.

Try a tool that uploads nothingMerging runs on your side

The answer is not the same for every tool, which is why it deserves a list rather than a marketing sentence. The rule is simple: what handles pages runs in the browser, and what rebuilds content needs a server.

Run inside your browser

These never upload the file

  • Merging files and splitting them
  • Rotating, deleting and extracting pages
  • Adding a watermark or page numbers
  • Signing inside the file
  • Turning images into PDF

Need a processing service

These send the file, and the result is deleted after sixty minutes

  • Converting PDF to Word or Excel
  • Converting Office documents to PDF
  • Reducing the file size

The two rules

  • Runs the page tools entirely in your browser: those files are never uploaded
  • Compresses a PDF to make it smaller, on the server like the conversions

There is no way to convert a PDF to Word inside the browser alone, so we do not promise it. The choice between the two stays with you.

The commercial side

  • Keep your converted file afterwards — a server-side result is held for 60 minutes and then deleted
  • Let you download the result without a subscription — running the tool is open to everyone, the download is not
